RIDING STABLES

First time and experienced riders alike will enjoy the picturesque guided trail rides through fields and wooded areas, with breathtaking vistas and cool breezes through the trees. Our herd of horses are trained to walk the trails, making it safe for novices and children. The sights and sounds of nature and the smell of earth and fragrant woodland flora greet you on every ride.

Your trail ride experience begins with a short introduction in the ring or at the hitching rail – it’s important to meet your horse and learn about their personality before you mount up and head out on the trail. Helmets are provided for your safety. We recommend you wear boots or shoes with heels to allow for sturdy stirrup control. The horses enjoy carrots as a treat after the ride. Trail rides are $35 per person for one hour. Rides are offered throughout the year, weather permitting. Thunder storms, ice on the trails or severe winds are not optimum conditions for a safe ride so we recommend you check prior to coming out.

Cowboy breakfast rides are offered in the summer months... departing early and watching the world wake up before the heat of the day makes for a great experience. Breakfast is served in the Cowboy Bowl over an open fire – sausages and eggs, fried potatoes and French Toast along with juice and camp coffee await the early risers. The horses are aware their load is heavier on the second half of the ride! Non-riders may want to arrive by wagon. This is an event the entire family can enjoy!

Lessons are offered for those who need some basic instruction prior to heading out on the trail. Rates are available for half hour and hourly lessons. Our trail guides can teach basic western or English riding.

Cowhands are always welcome for chores as well... early feedings and barn cleanouts are done daily so come on up and visit and spend time with the horses.

Horse-drawn wagon rides and sleighrides in winter are offered each week by Albert and his team of beautiful Clydesdales. You won’t want to forget your camera when these magnificent horses are hitched up and prancing down the road.

Our trail horses have either been born and raised or trained to ride here at the Resort so we know they are gentle and anxious to see our guests. How about a Gift Certificate for a young rider?

Riding camps are available locally so please contact us for details.
