These steps show the correct settings for Microsoft Outlook 2007 to send and receive mail through First Page SEO e-mail accounts.
- Ensure that you have your email settings and instructions printed out and in front of you. These will be in an email that was sent to you after you requested that your email account be set up with us. The e-mail account will store your incoming mail.
- Start Outlook 2007, and click the "Tools" menu item. Select "Account
Settings". The "Account Settings" window appears.
- Click the "New..." button. The "Add New E-mail Account" window
appears. If you are asked to choose e-mail service, select "Microsoft
Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP" and click the "Next" button.
- Check the box labelled "Manually configure server settings or additional
server types". Click the "Next" button.
- Select "Internet E-mail". Click the "Next" button.
- Enter the following information.
- Your Name: Enter your name as you would like it to appear in the "From" field of the e-mail messages you send.
- E-mail Address: Enter the e-mail address of the account that was created for you in step one.
- Incoming mail server: Enter securemailserver.ca
- Outgoing mail server: Enter securemailserver.ca
- User Name: Enter the e-mail address of the account you created in step one.
- Password: Enter the e-mail account password that was given to you when
you created the e-mail account in step one. Check "Remember password" if you
don't want to be prompted to enter your password each time you check for new
mail.
- Click the "More Settings..." button.
- Click the "Outgoing Server" tab.
- Check the box labelled "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires
authentication".
- Click the "Advanced" tab.
- For the incoming server, check the box labelled "This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)". Enter the number 995 in the incoming server port number field.
- For the outgoing server, click the "Use the following type of encrypted
connection" drop-down selection list and select "TLS". Enter the number 587 in
the outgoing server port number field.
- Click the "OK" button.
- Click the "Next" button. On the final screen, click "Finish" to save your
new e-mail account settings.
